The New Wife

I just met the new wife.
What does he see in her that I don’t have?
Why does she look at me like that?
Why does he have to seem so unaware of the scar he left in my heart?

She’s a flag flaunted in my face,
A reminder that I wasn’t enough.
It still hurts.
It hurts.

How will she treat my children?
Is it okay that they like her?
I hate her.
I just met the new wife.
