Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him….” Lamentations 2:19
The nights can be the worse. Loneliness settles in as darkness falls. The losses and uncertainties of divorce become magnified as our bodies tire and our minds grow weary from the day.
It’s only human.
It’s the perfect time to pour out our hearts to God. When our hearts are brimming with grief and fear we can unload those daunting emotions on our Heavenly Father. We can lift our hands to God as we pray for relief.
And He comes.
He comes into our hearts. He steadies our nerves. He calms our spirits.
Emptiness and sorrow yield to praise. And praise fills our hearts with an inexplicable peace. For even when our eyes are swollen and our hearts are weary and depleted, God is great. He is compassionate. He lifts us up.
Yes, even when our circumstances are bleak we can know that God is greater than our circumstances. God is the promise of hope and the comfort of eternal love for those who seek Him.
Give God the darkness of your nights. Never face the nights alone.
Peace to you,
